Winery Notes: The Rosso di Montalcino produced in the Il Galampio farm of the Marquisate of the Aleramici is made from the same grapes as those used for Brunello di Montalcino, though the wine is aged for a much shorter period in cask compared to the more famous wine. It is fairly young in character, well structured and at the same time delicate and harmonious, rich, intense and complex in aroma.

"The 2006 Reserva is a blend of 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo aged for 18 months in American and French oak. ORGANIC Terra, has deep ruby red color with garnet highlights. The aroma is very intense and complex; you can smell immediately spiced wood notes (nutmeg and cacao ) and then the typical Chianti fragrance of violet. The wine is smooth, elegant, warm with a long exquisitely-balanced aftertaste. This 2008 Riserva is an extraordinary wine which warranted additional cask time and was bottled in very limited quantities in September 2012. Only 50 cases were imported into the U.S, and no more is available from the winery or distributors.

Estate grown by this second label of Scheid Vineyards in Monterey. A beautiful ruby red color. Aromas of raspberries attract the nose and give way to luscious ripe blackberry, currant, and dark fruit flavors on the palate. Medium in body yet firm and well structured. The finish has surprising tannins for a relatively softly-finishing cab.
