International Review of Spirits Award: Gold Medal. Added to the Tomintoul range in 2003, the 16-year-old expression has the same light and floral nose as the distillery's 10 year old, but with more brittle toffee notes, oranges, nuts, and a hint of mint. Slightly fuller-bodied than its younger sibling, with clotted cream fudge, oranges, and a hint of peat. The medium finish offers citrus fruits, gentle spice, vanilla and a hint of spearmint. Tomintoul - pronounced 'Tomintowel' - is Scotland's highest village and has become infamous for regularly being cut off due to heavy snow. 16 year old Tomintoul described as the gentle dram and that it is indeed. The whisky is a testament to the master distiller Robert Fleming, a fourth generation distiller. An excellent, light floral whisky. Rich, amber color. Dried fruit, anise, crushed mint, cocoa, and pepper aromas. A soft, round entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium to full-bodied palate with sweet toffee, honeyed toast, brown spices, and pepper. Finishes with a perfumed fade of buttery caramel, spice, and mint. Very tasty and mild International Review of Spirits Award: Gold Medal
